The Capital District’s own Jackson Murphy, aka “Lights Camera Jackson,” is a veteran of six Critics Choice Awards broadcasts. He attended his first one in 2013 when he was fourteen. He had been a professional critic for seven years. These days he is a regular contributor on the subject of the motion picture industry on WGNA radio, where he can be heard on Friday mornings, as well as his own website, Lights Camera Jackson.

“As The CW ushers in Sunday night programming, I’m thrilled that the Critics Choice Awards will air on TV’s biggest night of the week,” Murphy says. “Nearly all of last year’s Critics Choice movie winners matched the Academy Award winners. And I predict that this year, Critics Choice will cover many more categories, Film & TV, over 3 hours than the Oscars will – because the awards themselves have always been, and will continue to be, the top priority.”
